Standard Yurt Features

7' Lattice Wall

These sturdy lattice walls are made from rugged 1-3/8" x 3/4” native spruce lathes, joined together with aluminum posts and stainless screws.

 

Rafters

Our rafters are constructed of select 2"x4"s for our Chocorua (16') and Whiteface( 20') models, 2"x6" for our larger models: The Liberty (24') and The Washington (30')

 

Door & Frame

This standard door lets in the natural light with a 1/2 window of 3/16 clear acrylic.

Ring

Our rings—engineered for strength—consist of two 5' diameter x 1.5" thick rings laminated together.

 

Clear Dome

1/4" acrylic. 16" tall and 5' in diameter.The dome fastens in six places to the ring with stainless steel expansion springs and four straps.

Dome Lifter

Utilizing a winding brace, our dome lifter feature ensures that you enjoy maximum ventilation whenever needed.

Windows

Each White Mountain Yurt comes equipped with three standard windows. Windows include a screen, storm window, and fully zippered privacy flap.

Roof

This superior polymer roofing material from Duro-Last (.040 mil [37 oz.]) comes with a 15-year manufacturer's warranty.

Walls

These three-layer, thermally welded ProTech walls with vinyl laminate are easily cleaned and repaired on site (15 oz. per square yard, 220 lbs. x 220 lbs. tensile strength).

Valance

A foot-wide band attached to the bottom edge of the yurt roof, covers the lacing system for a watertight seal. It is constructed of ProTech Fabric.

Rain Diverter

Attached to the roof above your door, this attractive, yet sturdy, fabric rain diverter keeps you and your entryway protected and dry.

Cable

The yurt cable is a 3/16" galvanized aircraft cable, encased in a protective covering. It has a break strength of 4200 pounds.

About White Mountain Yurt Insulation Kits

All of our yurt insulation kits utilize a unique insulation known as Astro-Foil which is paired with a flame resistant, washable poly lining. Designed by NASA, Astro-Foil consists of two layers of bubble insulation sandwiched between two layers of aluminum sheathing. Its unique construction and two-way reflective properties work as both a vapor barrier and climate control mechanism to keep you warm in winter yet cool in the summer.

Roof insulation kit

This insulation fits between the roof of your yurt and the interior. It includes a separate inner liner for aesthetic purposes, which conceals the insulation from view.

Wall Insulation Kit

Our fabric-lined wall insulation panels are designed to fit between your yurt's exterior and the inner lattice work walls. The lining, which is sewn directly to the panels, provides an attractive appearance to the interior of your yurt.

Window Insulation Panels

Engineered to slide over your window openings, these Velcro™ attached panels provide a protective thermal layer even in the coldest weather.

Tinted Dome

Our tinted dome reduces heat gain, keeping your yurt
up to eight degrees cooler than a clear dome.

Ring/Rafter Brackets

Installation of rafter brackets will reinforce your rafter connections and reduce the potential for twisting.

8' Roll up Wall

These floor to ceiling sections of screening provide ventilation in warmer weather and a spectacular view of your surroundings. For insulated yurts, we provide removable insulation panels for each roll up wall. Simply remove these panels in warmer weather and reinstall them when cold weather approaches. Clear vinyl window covers are also available on special order.

French Doors

With a full window on each side, these 42" wide double doors are an attractive upgrade for your standard yurt door.

Stovepipe Outlet

A stovepipe outlet allows for the installation of a stovepipe or vent through the yurt wall for a wood stove, gas stove, composting toilet, or dryer.
