June Yurt Raising!
Our yurt raising at The Green Alpaca in Strafford, New Hampshire was a great success! We had the perfect weather—clear
blue sky—at least for the first day. And it turns out one day was all we needed. The 20-foot yurt went up without a
hitch, thanks to the help of so many of you who came out and gave us your support.

It seems the kids kept themselves busy all day too. Some had construction plans of their own. Others spent the day down by
the pond scouting out the wildlife, or down in the farmyard with the ducklings, chicks, and alpacas. The day had a great family
feel to it.
When everything was finished, the kids all came inside and did some kind of kidlet yurtwarming dance. (round, and round, and round
the yurt) They went around so many times, the grown-ups got dizzy just watching them. Afterward, we were all amazed to find that
the yurt was full of fireflies. Apparently, that makes it official!

The yurt sits in a secluded spot just about a 10-minute hike up the trail-right in the middle of a stand of trees. Ahhhh! Peace,
quiet, and the occasional rush of a breeze on the canvas. Bonus: At night you can look up through the dome and do some serious
stargazing... So if you're ever in the neighborhood, come check it out. We'd love to meet you.
